PhD Student (f/m/d) 3D corrugated magnetic nanomembranes

The Institute for Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research is dedicated to the study of materials and their nanostructures that can be considered for future applications in information technology and are based on electrical, magnetic or optical functionalities.

The Department of Intelligent Materials and Systems is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) 3D corrugated magnetic nanomembranes.

Your tasks

• Fabrication of 3D corrugated magnetic nanomembranes
• Characterization of structural, magnetic and magnetoelectric characterization
• Evaluation of exprerimental data and its understanding via simulations

Your profile

• Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of material science, physics, chemistry or related field
• Experience with 3D architectures at nano and micro-scale
• Knowledge of 3D printing
• Experience with free standing membranes, microfabrication and mechanical properties characterization
• Good written and spoken English and German
• Knowledge of Python, LabView and Ansys
